High Key Lighting | Washington D.C. Portrait Photographer

Continuing on in our portrait photography module at Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts, our next assignment was High Key Lighting. Our goal was to get a white background with soft beautiful light on the face, using only one light. A little tricky, but we figured it out.  Here are some fun close up portraits of Lesli modeling for me with her new Nikon camera.

One of the assignments for my portrait class was to make portraits using low key lighting. I could have used a face, but instead I chose to photograph hands. Thanks to my lovely model and fellow classmate, Annette, I was able to make some interesting looking portraits of her hands.
