A Film Noir Evening | Washington D.C. Portrait Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a friend and her husband for a school project. I was going for a 1950s Film Noir/Dark Alley kind of look. This photo was my inspiration and after showing Jen and Pete we spent an evening going through Jen’s closet and putting together jewelry, accessories, and dresses. On the night of the shoot, Jen and Pete were too cute for words! They were all dolled up and giggling like little school children! We had such a good time, and I am happy to share some of my favorites here. A special thank you to Jen’s mom, Linda, for helping out with Jen’s hair, and to my friend, Tanya, for helping me out with the light!!

  1. It went well, I can see. Looks like you thought about it all to the very last detail. Good choice on their clothes and accessories in particular, I thought. Job well done! :)

  2. These look like the could have been taken as stills from a classic 1950s film – nice work to all involved!! My two favorites are the 1st one and the one where he is pointing the gun and they are blurry – awesome!!
